Q: Who should I contact for more information?

A: Call BEF web store customer service toll-free at 855-376-3941, send us an email or reach us by mail at: Attn: Web Store Manager, 240 SW 1st Avenue, Portland, OR 97204.

Q: How do I provide payment?

A: When purchased from the BEF web store, your credit card will be changed as a one-time payment, in twelve monthly payments or four quarterly payments depending on the payment plan you choose upon checkout. If you are purchasing this product to match your electricity use, you will continue to pay your electricity service provider for electricity charges.

Q: How is my REC payment calculated?

A: The price of a REC varies based on volume and location. Each REC is the equivalent of 1,000 kilowatt hours of electricity. There is a minimum purchase of 1 REC.

Q: What is this REC product?

A: One REC represents the environmental benefits of 1-megawatt hour (MWh) of renewable electricity generated and delivered to the power grid. By purchasing this product, you alone have the right to all associated claims about the environmental benefits it embodies. This product is to be regarded as a real environmental commodity, not an investment in a future project. However, if you do not need to take title to this product for your own use, BEF can retire the RECs on your behalf, and your payment may be a tax-deductible charitable contribution. The RECs you purchased are sourced from verified projects. Your purchase of this product stimulates market demand for renewable electricity projects, leading to more projects that can help mitigate the effect of climate change.

Q: What fuel sources will be used to generate my RECs?

A: BEF RECs will be sourced from new wind facilities. Information on specific sites is available on the BEF web page. For more information see the Green-e® Renewable Energy Code of Conduct available at www.green-e.org

Q: Is there a minimum contract length or an early termination fee?

A: No.

Q: What other fees might I be charged?

A: There are no other fees!
