Hudson Technologies HFC Reclamation Project Champaign 2024 (ACR1152, Vintage 2024)

Support the transition to climate-friendly technology and gases through a circular economy approach to the lifecycle management of refrigerant gases.

Refrigerants have transformed our society by providing ways to store and preserve food, medicine and other vital products. However, HFCs (hydrofluorocarbons) are potent High Global Warming Potential (HGWP) gases – hundreds of times more powerful than carbon dioxide. HFC reclamation reduces the production and release of virgin HFC’s into the atmosphere, creating immediate and permanent greenhouse gas reductions.

Rio Grande Valley Landfill Gas Project (CAR512, Vintage 2024)

Methane has more than 80 times the climate warming impacts over carbon dioxide. By collecting and combusting methane, this Texas landfill gas project reduces greenhouse gases and improves local air quality.

This project meets the criteria for the Core Carbon Principles and has been approved by the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market.

Northern Cheyenne Forest Carbon Project (ACR745, Vintage 2023)

This Improved Forest Management project covers 106,706 acres of commercial working forest on the Northern Cheyenne Indian reservation in Eastern Montana.

The Reservation’s forestland is predominantly stocked with ponderosa pine, a native species adapted to the region’s dry conditions. The project is a critical source of timber-replacing revenue, which allows the Tribe to preserve large amounts of its mature timber and also wait for wildfire impacted areas to recover. The tribe is committing to maintaining and increasing carbon stocks while sustainably managing for wildlife and wildfire management.
In addition to supporting a sustainable economy, a more diverse forest better serves the Tribe’s way of life, which values wildlife, fisheries, recreation, aesthetics, and cultural uses of the forest.

BNW Ranch Grasslands Project (CAR1284, Vintage 2024)

BNW Ranch is an Avoided Grassland Conversion project in Oregon covering an estimated 4,098 acres owned by The Nature Conservancy.
Identified as a priority for conservation because of its habitat value and threat of conversion to crop production, a variety of plant, aquatic, and wildlife species (including elk, mule deer, pronghorn sheep, and sharp-tailed grouse) depend on these intact grassland habitats.
Protecting rangeland and prairie ecosystems allows for native vegetation and nutrient rich soils to filter contaminants, reduces topsoil erosion and improves freshwater resources. Avoiding conversion to cropland also reduces nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizer use that often leads to excess nutrient runoff and downstream eutrophication.

UPM Blandin Forestry Project (ACR212, Vintage 2019)

Using Smart Forestry practices, this Minnesota project maintains the ecological diversity of 175,000+ acres of natural forest by reducing harvests to improve tree carbon storage that helps mitigate climate change.

The project promotes ecologically sustainable timber production that is compatible with maintaining water quality throughout the property’s 30 miles of state-designated trout streams and 33 miles of lake and pond shoreline. It also protects the habitat of 47 bird species and over 30 species of mammals, including black bear, grey wolf, and moose.

Kootznoowoo Native Community Forestry Project (ACR499, Vintage 2022)

Supporting Alaskan Tribal Nations through carbon credit revenue.
This Improved Forest Management project protects 20,159 acres across Prince of Wales Island, Alaska, including 8,000 acres of rare, old-growth forest. Mammals such as Sitka black-tailed deer, black bear, mountain goat, moose, beaver, weasel, land otter, and red fox can be found, and at least 12 fish-bearing streams that are home to sockeye salmon, Coho salmon, chum salmon, pink salmon and steelhead trout.

The project is owned by the native Haida and Tlingit people and managed in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service. The carbon revenue supports the native population of about 500 living in the village of Andoon through job and scholarship opportunities.
